Langham Associates have been developing bespoke applications for small and medium-sized companies for over 15 years.

Previously, the only approach was to install a server to hold the shared data and to have software running on each PC.

Now our approach is quite simply to use the internet.

Whilst we still carry out the following:

  • listen carefully to the customer requirements;
  • regularly ensure that we are meeting those requirements;
  • test extensively before implementing any software.

What has changed is that now there is no need for:

  • a dedicated server in the office;
  • additional software to be installed on individual PCs.

Instead, any PC requiring access to the application will simply need to be running an industry-standard browser such as Internet Explorer.

The user accesses a secure web-site dedicated to their company and enters a username and password specific to them. From then on they are able to perform all the functions that you would expect in a business application, such as creating, updating and deleting data, searching and reporting.

One of the big advantages of this approach is that the business information is accessible from anywhere in the world.
